Summary: In this presentation I looked at three articles on the European Union from a 2018 edition of the DPRK journal 법률연구 pŏmnyulyŏn'gu1 (‘Legal Research’) to find out a little more about law and society in the DPRK. I contextualised this by looking a little at the journal in which they appear, and at the context of statements on law and society attributed to Kim Jong Il. The research was possible due to support from the University of Kent and the British Association of Korean Studies.
