Disgrifiad

Discussion and readings with Jane Aaron, Classics Series Editor at Honno Press, Rita Singer, editor of the new Welsh Women's Classic Gladys of Harlech by LM Spooner and Helena Earnshaw, Honno editor and publisher.

Since publishing Betsy Cadwaladyr: A Balaclava Nurse - An Autobiography of Elizabeth Davis in 1986. (it had first appeared in 1857), Honno have added 30 Classics to their list, 8 in the Welsh language.

The latest in the Welsh Classics in English series, Gladys of Harlech by L. M. Spooner, together with some of Honno's key Classics, including Betsy Cadwaladyr, provide the focus for an evening dedicated to the recent history of reviving classics.

In the company of Classics Series Editor and Emeritus Professor Jane Aaron, specialist in Welsh writing in English, Rita Singer, editor of Gladys of Harlech, and Helena Earnshaw, Honno publisher, we'll hear about the work of L. M. Spooner, Amy Dillwyn and Allen Raine, largely forgotten women authors now more justly celebrated thanks to Honno's work.
