BBC Radio Wales interview for 'Science Cafe' series, with Henry Lamb and Helen Roberts (DGES) and Andy Cohen (US academic), examining the NERC/HSPDP 'Chew Bahir' project. Programme entitled "Drilling for Clues", and described by BBC Science Cafe as follows: How was human evolution and migration influenced by past changes in climate? Researchers at Aberystwyth University believe the answers lie beneath our feet - not here in Wales, though, but out in East Africa. Members of the department of Geography and Earth Sciences have been involved in an international project drilling deep down in the mudflats of ancient lake beds in Africa. And it’s amazing what information can be gleaned from the sediment they’ve removed. Adam learns more about some of the techniques involved and what the research might reveal about our origins.
