Disgrifiad

These are digital optical televiewer (OPTV) logs of four boreholes drilled by hot water to various depths (see Instrumented Borehole Info) in Khumbu Glacier, Nepal. Boreholes were drilled in May 2017 and 2018 to investigate the internal properties of Khumbu Glacier, specifically ice thickness, temperature, deformation and structure, as part of the NERC-funded 'EverDrill' research project.

Funding was provided by the NERC grant NE/P00265X/1 and NE/P002021/1.

The datasets are optical televiewer logs from four boreholes drilled to various depths (see Instrumented Borehole Info) in Khumbu Glacier, Nepal, in May 2017 and 2018. They were acquired using slimhole logging equipment manufactured by Robertson Geologging Ltd.

Logs were acquired using Robertson Geologging OPTV probe, mini winch and Micrologger II.

Most, but not all, OPTV logs are at a resolution of 360 pixels around the borehole, and at a vertical resolution of 1 mm.

Images are unaltered from those logged in the field. The OPTV technique is described by Hubbard et al. (2008).
