Proffil

Megan is in the second year of her PhD in biological sciences with IBERS at Aberystwyth University. Alongside her studies, Megan works in the agricultural sector as a contract sheep shearer and farm hand, as well as helping to run the family farm in Leicestershire. She gained a first-class degree with honours in Biology from Edge Hill University, as well as a Masters of Research (MRes) qualification in tropical plant population genetics. Throughout her studies, Megan has been awarded four scholarships for achieving the highest grades across her course and faculty within Edge Hill University and has now been awarded the AberDoc scholarship to continue her studies at the PhD level within Aberystwyth University. She has published four research papers to date, and has illustrated and published a children's book. During her PhD, Megan will focus on animal science/grazing behaviour of livestock and carbon emissions as part of ongoing research at Pwllpeira‌‌n Upland Research‌‌ Centre.
