I came to Aberystwyth as a mature student in 2001 to study for a BSc in Environmental Science and gained a First Class Joint Honours degree. I then embarked on an MPhil looking at the palynological History of a small Iron-Age promontory fort in North Pembrokeshire. In 2006 I was awarded an Aberystwyth PhD Studentship to reconstruct the glacial and palaeoenvironmental history of the Rhinogydd in north Wales from the LGM to the start of the Holocene. After a six year break working for an Environmental Consultancy and running my own business, I returned to Aberystwyth to take up a technical post on the Chew Bahir Project exploring links between climate change and human evolution in East Africa. In the summer of 2017 I was appointed as a PDRA on the CHERISH project, which aims to study climate change and its impact on the heritage on the Welsh and Irish coasts.
