Disgrifiad
The BeefQ project will increase the eating quality and value of Welsh Beef production through the testing and demonstration of an enhanced carcase quality grading system based on the Meat Standards Australia (MSA) model. This system will enable predictions of beef carcase eating quality and guide the introduction of new carcase data feedback, benchmarking and decision-support systems to the Welsh Beef supply chain, aimed primarily at farmers.
The BeefQ project will be pre-competitive, benefiting the whole industry, will help to support competitive brand differentiation of PGI Welsh Beef in the market place and contribute to the long term sustainability of Welsh Beef producers and supply chains post Brexit.
BeefQ is focused on building capacity and confidence in the sector and acting as a catalyst for further intervention, both supported by testing of technologies within the beef supply chain, providing improved data for business decision making as well as improved supply chain co-operation and communication.
