Funding Package #2 (addit funds for WT460626) : North Wales bTB Control and Protect Programme Through Local Leaders

This proposal continues the work to deliver a targeted Bovine TB (bTB) eradication project for North Wales, led by Mentera and supported by Aberystwyth University. This programme aims to reduce bTB incidence in the region through a collaborative approach to “keep it out and stamp it out” strategies by combining enhanced biosecurity measures, improved access and interpretation of data. The programme will also provide training and support to vets, Approved TB Testers (ATT) and farmers. By adopting a collaborative and participatory approach, the project aims to improve engagement and ownership of TB eradication among farmers and their private veterinarians. The ultimate aim of this project is to reduce bTB herd breakdowns in north Wales and prevent future ‘hot spots’ occurring.
