Disgrifiad

No Abstract required in the proposal. Briefly: The proposed study aims to be the first to assess whether gastropods can demonstrate reversal learning. It will use Lymnaea stagnalis and Cornu aspersum as model species due to previous work demonstrating learning in appetitive and aversive food classical conditioning tasks. This will add significantly to our understanding of cognitive complexity in this large and diverse phylum, determining if gastropods are capable of cognitive flexibility demonstrated across other phylogenetic groups.
