Crynodeb
The equatorial electrojet signal recorded on the Overhauser Magnetometer (OVM) on board CHAMP can be divided into four classes: the classical electrojet E the counter electrojet (CEJ), no electrojet (NEJ) and a new term, formation of the electrojet (FEJ). A statistical study oil the location, period and corresponding magnetic events Shows that at longitudes near 60degrees, 165degrees, 255degrees and 345degrees the morning events are CEJ. which then slowly form into FEJ near noon, and finally, as local little increases. the full EEJ is realized. All other longitude zones have only EEJ events. The reason for the occurrence of these events at certain longitudes is as yet unclear.
