Crynodeb
At a time when climate change and the resultant water-related impacts are prominent in many people’s minds, research on various aspects of water sustainability is on the increase all over the world. The research focuses mainly on the prediction of change and on the biophysical impacts of increased variability in precipitation, as well as on devising cost-effective measures with which to minimize the social and environmental impacts. Unlike some socioeconomic issues, the atmospheric response to greenhouse gas emissions impacts indiscriminately on all nations and is thus a problem of global concern. Water sustainability and water security are at the heart of economic and social stability and even First World countries are vulnerable, if timely and effective measures are not initiated
