Crynodeb
Questions of identity, representation and exchange are key to studies of all societies, but how people and groups interacted with one another and chose to identify themselves - and indeed the very concept of an individual identity – in the Middle Ages remains the subject of particularly lively debate. An investigation of how individuals and groups in medieval England represented themselves in different types of social and cultural exchange, and what this can tell us about the creation and concept of identity, will be the central theme of Impressing People, with the volume contributing to important debates in historical studies of the period.
