Crynodeb
This contribution analyses texts written by the children of refugees from National Socialism who settled in the UK, who undertook journeys to the former homeland of the First Generation. The texts were published in newsletters and anthologies and discuss the issue of postmemory and the complexity of continental European Jewish culture and history. The contribution concludes with a discussion of narratives interrogating victim and perpetrator positions, language, and belonging, and ultimately the complexity of such narratives.
