Tangier at the Crossroads

This volume is a selection of 24 papers presented in the V International conference of Tangier in 2008. This interdisciplinary volume tries to explore and discuss the multiple representations of the international city of Tangier during 20th century and to explain from a range of different theoretical backgrounds - gender, politics, narrative, painting and music - and ethnic or national backgrounds - Jewish, Sephardi, Arabic, Spanish, French, British, American - the cultural encounter of the city-space as a postmodern concept.
