Crynodeb
In recent years, 3D volumetric imaging has been used increasingly for the detection and classification of mammographie abnormalities. This increase in usage has been accompanied by an increase, within the computer vision community, of the development of novel techniques. A review of volumetric texture synthesis and analysis is given. The first step towards realistic 3D texture modelling is the extension of existing 2D-texture model to the third dimension. Examples of these extensions are given in this paper as well as a discussion of the validity and limitations of the developed approaches.
