Description
Spectacular shows, hands on family workshops and incredible exhibitors with the latest discoveries and questions about the world of tomorrow.45 minute bookable talk by Prof. Richard Lucas, Aberyswyth University with the European Space Agency on:
Mapping forests from space: a solution for climate change?
Over recent decades, substantial losses of forest cover have contributed to climate change through associated release of carbon, Find out how the European Space Agency is using satellites to tell us where carbon (biomass) is distributed in forests globally and how it is changing. We will also show how this information can be used to prevent further losses of forest integrity and proactively ensure that they are actively sinking carbon into the future.
