Description
Dr Javier Sotillo Gallego ([email protected]), "Instituto de Salud Carlos III", Madrid, España. During the last year we have established a collaboration with Dr Sotillo. He has extensive experience in proteomic analyses applied to helminths, important agents of major Neglected Tropical Diseases. I am particularly interested in the early intra-mammalian development of the human parasitic flatworm Schistosoma mansoni. To understand the development of the infective and early parasitic stages I use single-cell transcriptomics to reveal cells and molecular pathways followed by functional characterisation of key candidate genes. Many of these gene products may be expressed either as part of excretory-secretory products of the parasite, or associated to extracellular vesicles. The latter represent a key research area in the Sotillo lab.Period | 2023 → … |
