Description

The Network Plus Creating Safer Space collaborated closely with Nonviolent Peaceforce and representatives of the Community of Practice of Unarmed Civilian Protection and Accompaniment (UCP/A) in organising a first international gathering of UCP/A stakeholders in Ferney-Voltaire (France) and Geneva (Switzerland( in October 2023. The Gathering was the starting point for the institutionalisation of community of practice (CoP) collaboration structures. PI Bliesemann de Guevara was member of the planning committee and subsequently invited to join the CoP Steering Group. 15 network members participated in the Gathering, which was co-sponsored by the Network Plus. Bliesemann de Guevara and Co-I Arias López facilitated the meeting. Three N+ members spoke at a related event with diplomats in Geneva.
