Description
Dr Farrar leads the Agricultural Sciences and the BioEconomy theme in IBERS, AU, comprising 27 PIs plus associated staff and students. She has published over 30 papers on plant development, energy crops and plant-microbe interactions. She has successfully supervised six PhD students to completion, with four ongoing (one submitted, awaiting viva); of these, 4 projects have been in collaboration with industrial partners or public bodies.Dr Catherine Howarth is a Reader at AU and leads the Cereals and Pulses Group. Her research focuses on understanding the control of agriculturally important traits and the incorporation of these traits into improved plant varieties. She has experience in managing a number of large multidisciplinary projects including collaborations with industry and has successfully supervised 4 PhD students to completion.
