The aim of this workshop is to provide participants with a range of approaches and skills to create diverse research teams, manage and motivate their research teams, focusing on communication within teams.
• Exploring transformational leadership
• Creating motivationally supportive environments for diverse research teams
• Examining how to manage and enhance communication with staff and research students with different communication styles and needs
• Understanding how to manage communications when things go wrong
• Considering assertiveness and engaging in difficult conversations
