Title Aber Food Forum Degree of recognition Local Media name/outlet Facebook Media type Web Country/Territory United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Date 01 Mar 2016 Description Aber Food Forum has been established as a platform for promoting community and local food initiatives. We have a range of goals that include, connecting local consumers, growers and small-scale processors; bringing the local community together to talk about food issues; running themed 'community cafe' events; networking with other groups in the Aberystwyth area (such as Aber Food Surplus); providing opportunities for education and skills-development.
We are currently working with Ceredigion County Council - specifically with Alison Kinsey, Rural Communities Officer, Cynnal Y Cardi (and her colleagues) who are funding and assisting in the organisation of a 'visioning' event that will be held in February 2017. The event title is 'Let's Talk About Food!' and the aim is to develop a clearer sense of what local people would like to see in terms of our local food economy, and to generally build a stronger engagement with food issues at local level.
We currently have 51 members on our Facebook page - a modest start but we are gaining momentum.Producer/Author Aber Food Forum URL https://www.facebook.com/aberfoodsurplus/posts/a-few-members-of-the-aber-food-forum-team-at-a-meeting-yesterday-planning-for-th/1351390748236130/ Persons Naomi Salmon Title Aber Food Forum Degree of recognition Local Media name/outlet Twitter Media type Web Country/Territory United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Date 01 Mar 2016 Description Aber Food Forum has been established as a platform for promoting community and local food initiatives.
