Impact summary

Multiple workshops have been organised to engage democracy promotion practitioners working for governments, international organisations, development agencies, NGOs and political foundations and private consultancies to inform them of the outcomes of a major project which studied the conceptual underpinnings of their work. The aim has also been to achieve reflection on conceptual foundations by actors themselves. As a result, various impacts on individual actors and groups has been achieved. Notably, the effect of reflection on conceptual foundations has been noted to have had effect on practitioners' ability to assess the conceptual contours of their work and how they affect what they do. Also, certain specific changes in thinking patterns and actions of practitioners has been achieved. The impact is on-going but has been recorded for the period 2011-2013.
