Dave Powell is an ecologist, whose main interest lies in species monitoring and recording, habitat management for conservation, and ecological change particularly in upland habitats. Having worked as a field biologist for many years he teaches fieldwork techniques and the application of information technology, particularly GIS in wildlife conservation. He spends his spare time running up and down mountains and wishes he could get out rock climbing more often. He is now semi-retired but continues to teach part-time.
