Elin’s current research interest include: Territorial politics; Sub-state governance and constitutional change; Intergovernmental relations and sub-state diplomacy; Language policy and minority language revitalisation

Elin Royles is Reader in the Department of International Politics and Assistant Faculty Pro-Vice Chancellor with responsibility for Recruitment in the Humanities Faculty, and Executive Committee member of the University’s Centre for Welsh Politics and Society.

Elin is Assistant Faculty Pro-Vice Chancellor (Recruitment) in the Humanities Faculty.
Previous positions include Director of Recruitment and Marketing, Director of Undergraduate Studies and Director Welsh-medium Studies at the Department of International Politics and Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Branch Chair at Aberystwyth University.
She is Theme Leader on ‘Regional and Minorities Language’ at the University’s Centre for Welsh Politics and Society and co-leads the WISERD Language Research Network.
