PhD student investigating the plant-soil interactions of the invasive ericaceous shrub Rhododendron ponticum within Snowdonia National Park. Research interests include plant interactions with soil organic matter decomposition, biogeochemical cycling and soil microbial communities.
Currently working on the BRAINWAVES project (https://www.ucc.ie/en/brainwaves/), researching the potential for using duckweed (Lemna spp.) to remediate nutrient-rich agricultural effluents, mitigating environmental pollution whilst also producing a valuable high-protein feedstock. Research interests include nutrient cycling, organic matter decomposition, biogeochemical cycles, plant-soil interactions, environmental pollution.
I previously completed a PhD at Aberystwyth University researching the plant-soil interactions of the UK invasive shrub Rhododendron ponticum.
