PhD thesis title: ‘Gossip, Print and Espionage: Re-evaluating British and Atlantic Communication networking during the Glorious Revolution, 1688-1697.’

In 1688, the Stuart World stretched across the northern Atlantic. However, frustration at James II prompted members of the English gentry to invite William of Orange to engage in a military intervention, and force James to reconcile the nation’s grievances. Known as the Glorious Revolution, it had enormous impact in England. Ignited by the revolution in England, supporters of William and James engaged in rebellions, riots, and war across the Stuart Atlantic World until 1692. My study aims to show how the Glorious Revolution was exported from England into Scotland, Ireland, and the Atlantic, by focusing on different communication methods.
