Originally from Cardiff, Jonathan is an alumnus of Cardiff Metropolitan University, graduating with a BA (Hons) Events Management (2010), PgC Applied Social Research (2014), MPhil (2014) and PGCE PcET (2018). In 2012, Jonathan launched his event evaluation business, Event Rater Ltd. The company won the 'Best Digital' award at the Lloyds Bank Enterprise Awards 2014 (Wales and South West England Heat).

Away from academia Jonathan's main interests include following the Cardiff Blues rugby team and supporting Wales' national rugby team and stand-up comedy events and festivals, his favourite comedians being Lee Evans, Rob Brydon, Lee Mack, Aisling Bea, Sean Lock and Rhod Gilbert.

Jonathan is currently undertaking PhD research within the department investigating consumer behaviour and pricing considerations surrounding VIP and face-value event ticket purchases.
