Profile

I'm passionate about supporting people to learn Welsh and to use the language in all spheres of life, as a living language.  I also love leading and supporting colleagues, and nurturing and developing teams that work well together to acheive their goals. Communication is key.

BA (honours) in Welsh Language and Literature (Bangor, 1987). 

University of Wales Certificate in Teaching Welsh to Adults (1987)

 

Additional information

Volunteering with Tearfund charity, and participating in the life of St Mair's Church, Aberystwyth, including preaching occasionally on Sundays. A regular 'thought for the day' ('Dweud eich Dweud') on BBC Radio Cymru. I support refugees in Ceredigion as a trustee of Aberaid.

Responsibilities

Leading and managing the Learn Welsh Team in order to grow the number of people learning Welsh in Ceredigion, Powys and Carmarthenshire.

Estyn Peer Inspector for the Learn Welsh sector.

Teaching

I focus mainly on teaching Welsh proficiency courses, including the Profesional Welsh Course.

In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
