Project Details
Description
The proposed research topic aims to determine the origin and formation processes responsible for the development of foliation within ice masses. Detailed study of relatively small-scale valley glaciers will be utilised to identify the processes of foliation formation and evolution. Subsequently, comparisons will be drawn between foliation observed in valley glaciers and features described as flowlines or flowstrips found in comparatively large-scale ice streams to determine if they share common processes of formation.
