Description
Scholarship awarded to Chitchanok Banruethai, three years funding plus £6k pa bench fee supplement. Oat genome references and exome captures have identified large numbers of sequence variants with likely impact on agronomically important traits. Many of these are segregating in Nested Association Mapping (NAM) populations created at IBERS. Screening of NAM lines and creation of Heterogeneous Inbred Families (HIFs) will be used to identify the most significant variants and to establish their role in domestication and elite breeding of oat cultivars.
