Drawing on traditions of memoir and nature writing, this is a cultural history of the pig intertwined with a personal account of pig-keeping. It features original research into the phenomenon of performing pigs in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. As creative non-fiction, the work intersects with a number of genres and approaches.
