Abstract
This proceedings contains 293 contributions (invited papers, oral and poster presentations) covering a wide range of subjects on biodiversity and animal feed - future challenges for grassland production, many of them are specifically related to the current severe global climate and food supply situation. A number of different perspectives are discussed, such as: (i) present, past and future situations of the grassland landscape as a base for animal production; (ii) strategies and limitations of biodiversity and productivity in grasslands; (iii) forage as part of the food chain; (iv) efficient resource utilization for sustainable conventional and organic grassland production; and (v) pathways for future success of grassland-based production in Europe.
