Abstract
Much of Eddie Ladd’s work deals with themes of colonialism and the survival of small nations. It’s an essay on foot that has the performer trying to reconnect with Welsh history through dance and movement analysis. Featuring an original soundtrack, and an essay text delivered live, Cof y corff/muscle memory moves through time from 1256 through to the present day. The show is performed live to camera, sometimes two or three, edited live and processed on site. Audience members choose how they wish to watch the work, shifting between the ‘unfinished’ dance on-stage and its final setting in a digital environment on screens around the auditorium.
