Abstract
Far-future short story (7,000 words) about a cult of space monks who dismember and blind one of their own, and send him to the Sun in search of eternal life. Story engages with aspects of transhumanism and religious extremism. Takes place in the same fictional universe as 'Freedom of Navigation', my previous story for Interzone (the UK's leading SFF journal).
