Abstract
This issue is predominantly devoted to a Themed Section on ‘History during the Anthropocene’, guest edited by Laura Guillaume. We invited proposals for papers on this theme early in 2020, and we selected just over a dozen for development into full drafts which were submitted early in 2021. The first five papers to progress through peer review and revision are presented here, and we will publish the remainder in a second collection on this theme in one of our 2022 issues
