Abstract

The proceedings contain 16 papers. The topics discussed include: black-box complexity of parallel search with distributed populations; on the black-box complexity of example functions: the real jump function; insights from adversarial fitness functions; fixed budget performance of the (1+1) ea on linear functions; efficient optimization of noisy fitness functions with population-based evolutionary algorithms; run-time analysis of population-based evolutionary algorithm in noisy environments; evolution strategies with additive noise: a convergence rate lower bound; understanding simple asynchronous evolutionary algorithms; parallel evolutionary algorithms performing pairwise comparisons; self-adapting the Brownian radius in a differential evolution algorithm for dynamic environments; and a more efficient rank-one covariance matrix update for evolution strategies.
