Abstract
This paper examines the sources and interests which allowed a sixteenth-century Italian map of Wales found in the Palazzo Vecchio to be drafted, this map’s reflection of religious interests then current at the English College in Rome, and what the names recorded on this map show about the development of the Italian language.
