Abstract

After FCC released around 9GHz of bandwidth for public use, impulse based ultrawideband (UWB) has regained a lot of attention from the research community. One of the major use of UWB system is as a UWB radar for short range surveillance and imaging. The current work proposes a new algorithm for near field imaging using UWB radar system. We have proposed a new arrangement of antenna array and have used Henkel transform based inverse circular Radon transform as the analytical tool for generating the image of the scene. Simulations using the algorithm show its better performance as compared to classic numerical range migration techniques of image reconstruction.
