Abstract
Botrytis cinerea (teleomorph, Botryotinia fuckeliana), more commonly known as the cause of grey mould, has a wide host range of over 200 plant species, including many economically important crops such as tomato, grape and potato. This necrotrophic fungus secretes cell wall degrading enzymes which kill host plant tissue in advance of its own growth, metabolising any nutrients that are released (Govrin and Levine, 2000).
