MIMO Assembly of a Meandered-line Antenna for 6G and beyond Indoor Wireless Frontends

Abstract

This paper presents a 4-element wideband MIMO (multiple-input-multiple-output) antenna operating at 20 GHz and covering a portion of the Ka-band. The use of a slotted ground structure enabled an impedance bandwidth of 16.8 GHz in the range of 19-35.8 GHz with a peak gain of 8 dBi. The mutual coupling effects were reduced by placing the antennas orthogonal to one another. Envelope correlation coefficients well below 0.005 were achieved making the antenna a good candidate for 6G and beyond indoor wireless systems.
