Abstract

A novel iterative procedure is proposed for the factorisation of a matrix-function containing oscillating terms. Such matrices constitute the kernels of the matrix Wiener-Hopf problem arising in the study of certain problems of fracture mechanics. The developed technique allows to get an approximate solution to the Wiener-Hopf equation. Under additional assumptions, an analytic solution of a special Wiener-Hopf problem is constructed.
