Abstract
Passage is a multi – platform project; blog, publication, performance/lecture and a video, audio and text project, exhibited as a multi screen surround sound immersive installation. The installation was first exhibited as a solo exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Interdisciplinary Art, Bath University. The project was developed while artist in residence on a series of international artists residencies; Joya: arte + ecología residency, Los Gázquez, Andalucía, Garfield Weston Artists Residency Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Maumau Artist Residency, Istanbul, Turkey, Ondarte International Artist Residency, Mexico, Ne Na Contemporary Artists Residency, Chiang Mai, Thailand. All of the projects were developed through creative commissions and collaboration with international independent professional creatives and local communities. The project was funded by the Arts Council of Wales Major Creative Wales Award and developed with Lindsey Hughes visual arts curator ICIA. Elements of the installation have been exhibited in various other contexts for example: 2013 VII Biennale di Soncino, A Marco, Italy, Ne’-Na Contemporary Art Space, Chiang Mai, Thailand, Maumau, Istanbul, Turkey, Garfield Weston Artist in Residence open studio Abersytwyth Arts centre.
