Abstract
This examines the nation imagined by Edward Williams, together with how the gorsedd meetings that were held in London and Glamorgan in the 1790s performed his own interpretation of the nationhood of the Welsh. In the context of the this collection, there is an examination of the critical attitude of Hywel Teifi Edwards towards the nation that was performed by the gorsedd as it was presented to the Victorian Age.
