Abstract

Experimental results are presented for the changes in the degree of polarization upon propagation in the LP(01) mode in a few-mode optical fibre. The dependence on the temporal coherence of the source is shown. The general trend in the results can be confirmed with a theoretical Mueller matrix model describing a single-mode optical fibre.
