Abstract

Conceptions of Library and Information Science (COLIS) Conference, London, was held from June 22nd to 24th 2010 to provide an opportunity for those involved in LIS. One of the experts, Stasa Milojevic, discussed a bibliometric study, using a cognitive structure analysis, of LIS publications. Another expert, Monica Lassi, presented a taxonomy which provides a foundation for a predictive theory of collaboratory design. Taeda Tomic examined the philosophy of information, and its affect on research approaches in information retrieval, knowledge organization, information behavior, and the sub-domain of information literacy. Jela Steinerova discussed the relationships between information literacy and information ecology. Jenna Hartel explained her ideas about the temporal arcs for providing a framework for examining the time-related changes in information behavior. Deborah Turner introduced the idea of the oral document for analysis of oral information.
