Abstract

The resonant surface waves and instabilities in finite β plasmas were discussed. The existing wave modes were classified, their main properties were analyzed and analytical expressions for critical velocities were obtained. Analysis showed that the frequencies of wave modes were unaffected by the flow in the corresponding rest frames and there was no interaction between them.
