T1 - SECOND BANGKOK TRIENNALE INTERNATIONAL PRINT AND DRAWING EXHIBITION
AU - Croft, Paul
N1 - The print Alphabet Mn submitted for the Bangkok Triennale is one of a series of prints from a portfolio entitled Alphabets and Lexicons. Started in 2006, the basis for these prints has been ongoing research into the etymological development of language and the pictographic origins of symbols, letters, alphabets, characters and words. Inspired in part by cultural roots of language, these prints, which employ combination of graphic elements both invented and borrowed are increasingly about the development of a personal visual language and its classification and presentation in charts, diagrams, lists, lexicons, dictionaries and as thesauri.
Alphabet Mn is a four run lithograph drawn using tusche and crayon, printed from stone and ball grained aluminium plate.
