Abstract

This collection explores the realtion ship between minority languages and social media with a specific focus on the converged worlds of the creative industries. It is divided intor three sections: (1) Theoretical Debates on Convergence and Minority Languages. Section (2) Web 2.0, Social Networking Sites and Minority Languages. (3) Media Convergence and Creative Industries. It draws together a number of theoretical essays as well as a selection of specific case studies from across the globe (Basque, Maori, Catalan, Welsh, Kashubian, etc). The authors include severl established scholars in the field of minority language media and some early career academics.
