Abstract

The purpose of the work is to undertake a new and full assessment of the economics of short-rotation coppice (SRC) willow and to consider associated issues. This subject is crucial to the primary producers and to the end-users in biomass supply chains. We consider that: the current market and published literature under-estimate the value of wood-chips from SRC, and, energy crops will be needed to fill gaps in supply
