Abstract

The conference (Dublin, Ireland, 10–13 September 1995, organised by the Instrument Science and Technology Group of the UK Institute of Physics) was sub-divided into eight sections which covered a wide range of research areas from sensor modelling and development to specific applications. This short report provides an overview of these aspects and their relevance to the agricultural community.
